Research: Digipak Analysis

I've put together screenshots of three sets of albums for artists of similar genre. I've stuck with artists of similar genre because I wanted to pick up on the main features of their albums; the same color runs throughout panels, CD sometimes in completely different color, big and colorful fonts, etc.

Pixie Lott

• Same shade on each panel
• Big, clear font displays her name
• Bright red CD color 
• Letter 'X' large on CD used on many of her products
• Sticks to pink, white, and black with shaded light too on front and back
• Front photo in focus (mid-shot)
• Copyright and Industry logo and other key info on back

Katy Perry

• Three to four key colors (Blue, Red/Pink, White, Green)
• Font is clear and runs through front, back, and CD (and side)
• Funky green CD stands out
• Clear (but mid-shot) photograph
• Color coordinated prop
• Copyright and Industry logo and other key info on back
• White background runs throughout

Ellie Goulding

• Black runs throughout
• Sticks to two key colors (black and gold)
• Simple distribution and design
• Clear font and focused photograph
• Gold glitter effect smartly used on front image
• Copyright and industry logo and other key info on back
