Researching Ancillary Products: Do's and Don'ts

A Digipak Cover/Magazine Advert SHOULD have:

· A clear font

· An appropriate font and image size

· Photos that are in focus

· Photos that are an appropriate shape for the page

· A layout following the rule of thirds

· An appropriate type face following genre conventions and a house style

· An appropriate font, text and image positioning

· The 3 colour rule appropriate for images, the font and background

· Industry logos and conventions in the appropriate positions, i.e. a barcode, date, copyright, titles, artists name

A Digipak Cover/Magazine Advert SHOULD NOT have:

· Stretched images that become out of focus

· Layer styles

· Unnecessary effects that do not suit the genre

· Text placed across the artist’s face

· A separate photo on every panel; be creative !
